iTEC Level 4 Sports injury Massage therapy
This part time course is designed to provide further training to progress your career as a Sports Massage Therapist.
The iTEC Level 4 Sports Massage Certificate is the next step upward from the foundational Level 3 Diploma in Sports massage therapy when advancing your career in Sports Massage and Sports Injuries.
Progressing to more advanced assessments and massage techniques to cover soft tissue injuries.
Sports massage therapists are in great demand due to their knowledge, understanding and application of deep tissue massage techniques for muscle tension, aches and stiffness. Sports massage therapists also gain deep knowledge of injury prevention and maintenance of health and fitness of soft tissue. The increased interest in health and fitness has in turn led to an increased demand in the general public seeking deep tissue therapy, be onboard with your practical skillset and knowledge with a Body tree iTEC qualification as a Sports Massage Therapist.
Areas of study:
- Postural and Dynamic functional movement assessments, including gait analysis.
- Principles of soft tissue dysfunction and Stages of Healing
- Special testing assessments including subjective versus objective assessments, for ligament, tendon and muscular dysfunction.
- Specific sports massage techniques for relieving and managing pain and imbalance from soft tissue injury.
- Avail of the opportunity to be part of a GAA Internship program, with real-life supervised learning at the pitch side and in a dressing room environment.

This course builds upon the content and practical skills of the iTEC Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage by expanding on knowledge of the nervous system, injuries, and how to perform complex clinical testing, and will explore the literature to reinforce treatment approaches. Advanced massage techniques such as positional release techniques, consolidated muscle energy techniques, and much more will be taught in this course.

And for the first time in Ireland: GAA Internship Certificate in Field and Team Sports Therapy
Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy a prerequisite requirement for this course
